The plan should show how each required activity will be done, either in the plan itself or by pointing to suitable documented information such as a project plan, a work instruction, a checklist or a software application. An organization that already runs a management system may pick, tailor or add to its existing documented information for use in the plan or for reference from it. If meeting a requirement means departing from its own management system, the risks and opportunities of that departure should be weighed, and the departure needs a justification, agreement and approval. Quality plans may sit inside other documented information; project quality plans, for instance, are commonly part of project management plans (see ISO 10006).
