The plan should show how the activities required will be done, either directly or by pointing to documented procedures or other documents (a project plan, work instruction, checklist or computer application); any departure from the organization's management system should be justified and authorized. The QMS documentation, quality manual and procedures may already hold much of the generic material needed, which can be selected, adapted or added to, and the plan should show where generic procedures are applied, changed or overridden. A plan may sit inside another document, as project quality plans often form part of project management plans (ISO 10006).
