Parts 6 to 8: Fundamental alteration, disproportionate burden, presumption of conformity, declaration and CE marking – Ireland European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023 (S.I. No. 636 of 2023)

Ireland European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023 (S.I. No. 636 of 2023) R17: EU declaration of conformity: content, exceptions, model structure, updating and language

What does R17 require?

The manufacturer's declaration must state that fulfilment of the accessibility requirements has been demonstrated, identify any requirement covered by an exception, follow the Schedule 5 model, contain the Schedule 2 elements, be kept up to date and, for the Irish market, be translated into English (or Irish and English). Where several Union acts require a declaration a single declaration covers them all, identifying each act and its publication reference. By issuing it the manufacturer takes responsibility for compliance.
