Overtime, inconvenient hours and on-call duty should be kept to a minimum; overtime and public holiday work should be compensated by time off or higher pay, and other inconvenient hours by a salary addition. The Annex asks for staffing that covers absences so those present are not overburdened, and for overtime to be voluntary except where essential for patient care and volunteers are lacking.
