ILO Nursing Personnel Convention C149 (1977) R157 Para 24: Facilities for continuing education

What does R157 Para 24 require?

Nursing personnel able and wishing to take part in continuing education should get the necessary facilities, such as paid or unpaid educational leave, adjusted hours and payment of study costs, and paid educational leave where possible under the Paid Educational Leave Convention, 1974; employers should provide staff and facilities for in-service training, preferably at the workplace. The Annex counts paid educational leave as work for benefits and asks that unpaid study leave count towards seniority where possible.
