Ethical Risk-Based Design Process (clause 10) – IEEE 7000

IEEE 7000 10.3(c): Analyse and specify technical and organizational control over the system

The project shall aggregate the system elements relevant for control, identify the owner of each, analyse control over the system and its elements, build control mechanisms into the value dispositions of the functions that can affect value-based requirements, where practical prototype or simulate those functions to check with stakeholders how effective and acceptable the controls and risk-reduction options are, and document an ethical value control analysis: the system design description lists the elements, their owners, the interfaces to other systems and whether service level agreements can be changed, whether elements including those in a wider system of systems can be changed with reasonable effort and how quickly, and a final judgement on the controllability of each element and of the whole (Annexes E and F).
