The Age Appropriate Lead focuses on identifying, analysing and prioritising age appropriate outcomes and building them into the design, bridging engineering, management and those outcomes, and takes the lead in identifying, analysing and mitigating the risks to them. The role organises, analyses, communicates and records the age appropriate concepts, the concerns, the activities and the decisions of a project; includes other stakeholders inclusively and in good time; facilitates discussions and age appropriate activities alongside the design work; builds benefits to children and the organization through practices such as participatory design; applies age appropriate risk evaluation and assessment methods across design and development; sets up and keeps going the activities that manage the various age appropriate risks and priorities across the life cycle; and owns the creation, the updating and the integrity of the Age Appropriate Register (Annex B).
