IEC 60601-1 - Medical Electrical Equipment Safety 10.3: 10.3 Microwave radiation

Where applicable, microwave radiation risks are addressed in the risk management process, and unintended microwave emission in the 1 GHz to 100 GHz band stays at or below a power density of 10 watts per square metre at any point 50 mm from a surface operators can reach, be given access to or be instructed to enter, excluding intentional propagation points such as waveguide ports, checked by the manufacturer's calculations and, if necessary, measurement at the most unfavourable mains voltage with controls set for maximum radiation.
