The organization sets up, applies and keeps a process for approving products and manufacturing that meets the requirements the customer defines. Externally provided products and services are approved, as ISO 9001 clause 8.4.3 describes, before the organization submits its own part approval to the customer. Where the customer requires it, documented approval of the product is gained before shipment and the records are kept. Product approval should come after the manufacturing process has been verified.
