IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Standards Manual FLT 3.3: FLT 3.3 Flight Crew Qualifications

The Operator specifies flight crew composition and number by aircraft type, qualification and flight and duty limits; has criteria preventing the pairing of inexperienced pilots; defines minimum command experience for low visibility approaches; requires a medical assessment valid no longer than twelve months; ensures international crews hold licences validated as the State of Registry requires or does not use them; enforces recency of experience (takeoffs, approaches and landings on type within the period, or a requalification); runs an airport qualification process requiring the pilot to have actually flown an approach and landing into every airport of the route system or an approved alternative such as a pictorial briefing or simulator; and does not use as PIC on difficult-terrain or special-airport routes a pilot without the special skills or knowledge required (FLT 3.3.1 to 3.3.10).
