Carparks must contain enough accessible parking spaces with proper access, designation and directional signage: one space where the lot has up to 50 car parking spaces, two for 51 to 150, three for 151 to 250, four for 251 to 350, five for 351 to 450 and six above 450. Each reserved space sits close to the lobby of an accessible lift or to an entrance and is joined to it by an accessible route, is at least 3500 mm wide (or at least 2500 mm wide where two spaces share a common loading and unloading area of at least 1200 mm), and carries the international accessibility symbol on the ground and on signage as the figures show. The Best Practice Section covers covered spaces and higher provision for certain uses.
