Accessible guest rooms in a hotel, hostel or guesthouse must be usable by persons with a disability throughout: the room itself and every sleeping, bathing and sanitary facility in it. The minimum is two accessible rooms with full facilities, rising by two for each 100 guest rooms or part of that (so a 150-room hotel needs four), and the bathrooms and showers serving those rooms must meet Division 12. The Best Practice Section recommends further provisions for guests with hearing impairment.
