EU Platform Work Directive (Directive 2024/2831) 9(1)-(2): Article 9(1)-(2) Transparency: what must be disclosed about automated systems and in what form

Platforms must inform persons performing platform work, platform workers' representatives and, on request, competent authorities about the use of automated systems. For monitoring systems: that they are in use or being introduced, the categories of data and action monitored, supervised or evaluated (including customer ratings), the aim and how monitoring is done, and the recipients of the data including transfers within a group. For decision-making systems: that they are in use or being introduced, the categories of decision taken or supported, the categories of data and main parameters and their relative importance (including how the person's data or behaviour influence decisions), and the grounds for decisions to restrict, suspend or terminate an account, refuse payment, or decide contractual status. Also every category of decision taken or supported by automated systems that affects persons in any manner. The information is a written document (electronic allowed) in transparent, intelligible, easily accessible, clear and plain language.
