Part 273: Universal waste – EPA RCRA Hazardous Waste Management

EPA RCRA Hazardous Waste Management 273.15: § 273.15 Accumulation time limits

Universal waste may be accumulated for no more than one year from the date it is generated or received, unless longer accumulation is solely to accumulate quantities needed for proper recovery, treatment or disposal, which the handler must prove. The handler must be able to show how long waste has been accumulated, by dating the container with the earliest date, dating each item, keeping an inventory by item or by group with the earliest date, using a dated accumulation area, or any other method that clearly shows the time.
