EN 50716:2023 - Railway Applications - Requirements for Software Development A.4: Table A.4: software design and implementation (7.3, 7.4 and 7.5)

Table A.4 grades eight design and implementation techniques. Modular approach is HR at Basic Integrity and M at SIL 1 to 4; the design and coding standards entry (detailed in Table A.12) is HR up to SIL 2 and M at SIL 3 and 4; components (Table A.20) and analysable programs are HR at every level; modelling, structured methodology, structured programming and suitable programming languages (Table A.15) are R at Basic Integrity and HR at SIL 1 to 4. Approved combinations: SIL 3 and 4, modelling, modular approach, components and design and coding standards; SIL 1 and 2, structured methodology, modular approach, components and design and coding standards plus either structured programming or a suitable programming language.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 2 controls across 2 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

  • 50128:A.4 Table A.4: software design and implementation (7.3, 7.4 and 7.5)
  • 6:8.4 8.4 Software unit design and implementation

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
