The technical safety report explains the technical principles that make the design safe, including or pointing to all supporting evidence (the design principles and calculations, the test specifications and their results, safety analyses), mandatory for SIL 1 to 4 with depth proportionate to the SIL, under six headings: Section 1 introduction (design overview, the technical safety principles relied on, the extent of the safety claim, the standards and issues used as the basis, with justified exceptions for modifications of accepted equipment); Section 2 assurance that it functions correctly when free of faults (system architecture description, definition of interfaces, fulfilment of the system requirements specification, fulfilment of the safety requirements specification, assurance of correct hardware functionality, assurance of correct software functionality); Section 3 effects of faults (that the safety requirements including the quantified target are met under random hardware faults, the technical measures against residual systematic faults, and that faults in items of lower SIL including basic integrity cannot lower the safety of the system as a whole, under the headings effects of single faults, independence of items, detection of single faults, action after detection, including holding the safe state, effects of multiple faults, defence against systematic faults, per Annex B); Section 4 operation with external influences (that within the external influences of the system requirements specification the system continues to meet its operational and safety requirements including under fault conditions, the methods explained and justified; safety is not assured outside those limits); Section 5 safety-related application conditions (the rules, conditions and constraints to be observed in application, including those of related safety cases); Section 6 safety qualification tests (evidence of successful completion under operational conditions).
The graph holds this control, the 0 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
