Where a pre-existing system, subsystem or equipment (a previously accepted product, a generic application, or general-purpose or COTS equipment) is used in a safety-related electronic system, evidence is provided either that the item is either not depended on for safety or can be depended on for the safety functions it performs: for a complete pre-existing system its previous safety case and application conditions are shown to cover the new context (the cross-acceptance argument of EN 50126-1 6.5.4), and for pre-existing equipment its safety properties are established by the available evidence (service history, the supplier's documentation, analysis and tests) to the SIL claimed, with the residual gaps closed by the integrating system's own measures; the argument and the exported conditions enter the safety case (6.2.1 to 6.2.3).
This control maps to 3 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 3 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
