Where ICT displays video with synchronised audio, it must have a mode that shows available subtitles and, where closed subtitles come with the content, must let the user choose to show them. Subtitle timing, colour and position data matter to users; showing subtitles on a connected braille or large display is best practice. 7.1.1 concerns the player; the subtitle clauses in 9, 10 and 11 concern the media itself.
