Special categories are sensitive data, data of children and adolescents, health data, and data of persons with disabilities and their substitutes relating to the disability (Art. 25). Processing sensitive data is prohibited unless the data subject gives explicit consent with the purposes clearly stated; processing is necessary for obligations and specific rights in employment, social security and social protection; it protects vital interests of a person physically or legally unable to consent; the data were manifestly made public by the data subject; a judicial authority orders it; it is necessary for archiving in the public interest, scientific or historical research or statistics, proportionately and with specific safeguards; or health data are processed under the Act's health rules.
