EarthCheck Company Standard Version 4.2 4.1: Sustainability Management System and Energy Efficiency Approach

What does 4.1 require?

A long-term sustainability management system with an approach to energy efficiency, sized to the operation, is implemented, maintained and monitored and set out in a Sustainability Action Plan with measurable, time-bound targets and improvement processes across the relevant Key Performance Areas. High impact organisations also keep an EMS and EnMS. The system brings together environmental, economic, social and cultural matters with quality, workplace safety, human rights and risk and crisis management, staff are trained periodically on their part in it, and it is reviewed and updated at least yearly.
