Architectural features (dissimilar implementation, redundancy, monitors, isolation, partitioning, command or authority limits) can mitigate or contain hardware design and implementation errors; scope is set with qualitative FTA and common mode analysis within the PSSA and FFPA, recognising that redundancy mainly covers random faults and upsets unless common mode aspects are addressed. FFPs of a proposed implementation are identified, design options analysed and mitigating features proposed; the overall effect on all relevant FFP effects is evaluated; the mitigation's own derived requirements are verified; and new failure paths it introduces are addressed by further mitigation or another Appendix B strategy.
This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 1 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
