Connecticut Rules of Professional Conduct (Connecticut Practice Book) 3.6: Trial publicity

What does 3.6 require?

A lawyer who is or has been involved in investigating or litigating a matter must not make a public statement that the lawyer knows or should know will be widely disseminated and carries a substantial likelihood of materially prejudicing the adjudication. The lawyer may, however, say what a reasonable lawyer would think necessary to shield the client from the substantial undue prejudice of recent publicity that neither the lawyer nor the client started, limited to what is needed to counter it. Lawyers associated with that lawyer in a firm or government office are bound in the same way.
