Connecticut Rules of Professional Conduct (Connecticut Practice Book) 1.6-e: Reasonable efforts to prevent inadvertent or unauthorised disclosure or access

What does 1.6-e require?

The lawyer must take reasonable steps to guard information about a client's matter against accidental or unauthorised disclosure and against unauthorised access. The commentary measures reasonableness by the sensitivity of the information, how likely disclosure is without extra safeguards, the cost and difficulty of those safeguards and how far they would hamper the practice, lets a client require more or consent to less, and calls for reasonable precautions when sending communications.
