Connecticut Rules of Professional Conduct (Connecticut Practice Book) 1.15-k-n: Signatory and withdrawal controls, record media, and records on dissolution or sale of a practice

What does 1.15-k-n require?

Only a lawyer admitted in Connecticut, or someone working under that lawyer's direct supervision, may be an authorised signatory on a client trust account or authorise transfers from it; receipts are deposited intact with deposit records detailed enough to identify each item; and withdrawals go out only by check to a named payee or by authorised electronic transfer, never as cash. The required records may be held electronically, photographically or in another medium provided they otherwise comply and can be printed, and they must be readily accessible to the lawyer. When a firm or legal professional corporation dissolves, the partners make reasonable arrangements for the trust records to be maintained; a seller of a practice does the same.
