Business terms and their definitions are drawn up, approved, kept current and promoted consistently so that data can be shared. Standard terms are easy for stakeholders to find and are communicated to them. Every glossary entry carries its own unique name and definition, and industry-standard terms are adopted where suitable. A documented process for defining, managing, using and maintaining the glossary is put in place and followed, and new initiatives use its terms when they define data requirements. Development, data integration and consolidation work all apply the standard terms. The glossary is built into the metadata repository, with suitable access permissions.
