CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) 9.2-9.2.3: Questions 9.2 to 9.2.3: Water: monitoring coverage and total volumes

What does 9.2-9.2.3 require?

The organisation states what share of its sites measures and monitors each water aspect (withdrawals total and by source, entrained water for mining and produced water for oil and gas, withdrawal quality, discharges total, by destination and by treatment method, discharge quality by standard effluent parameters, emissions to water of priority substances (nitrates, phosphates, pesticides and others), discharge temperature, consumption, recycled or reused water, and WASH services (water, sanitation and hygiene) that are safely managed for every worker), with frequency and method of measurement; hydropower operations report environmental flows and sediment loading; and the organisation reports total volumes withdrawn, discharged and consumed, how they compare with the previous year and how they are forecast to change, with reasons (oil and gas by business division).
