When an intermediary or electronic commerce service provider becomes aware that information in an electronic record gives rise to civil or criminal liability, it must at once remove the information from systems under its control and stop providing services for it, preserve the information as evidence, and notify the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications or the relevant competent institution of the facts and the identity of the suspected person. Failure is an offence under Article 54.
