The head of the entity names one employee, or a dedicated administrative unit, to own security of networks and information systems. That person or unit reports straight to the administrative authority or head of the entity on the state of security and on open issues, without an intervening layer. Annex 6 lists the recommended functions of the role: leading the security programme, drafting policies and documented information, monitoring compliance with internal rules, advising management, overseeing risk assessments, reporting at least yearly, coordinating training, testing incident and continuity plans, liaising with peers, keeping the incident register accurate, notifying the sectoral CSIRT under Article 31, analysing incidents, tracking software updates and new threats, arranging vulnerability testing, supporting audits and inspections, and proposing sanctions. An entity with regional branches whose systems are spread across sites appoints a separate officer for each branch.
This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 1 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
