Extinguishers in good working order are carried to Table 12.1: one 30B dry powder in the cabin or at the front of a trailer for packaged goods and IBCs within the stated limits; a 60B or two 30B in the load area plus a 10B in the cabin for non-flammable goods in pressure drums, tubes, MEGCs, tanks or bulk containers; and two 60B or an 80B plus a 20B foam in the load area plus a 10B in the cabin for flammable goods in those receptacles or in IBCs above the limits, with the foam, water and fixed system alternatives the table notes allow. Each unit of a combination carrying a placard load is equipped separately. Extinguishers comply with AS/NZS 1841.1, AS/NZS 1850, AS 1851 and the relevant AS/NZS 1841 part, are mounted with quick-release attachments, readily accessible, stowed on tank vehicles under AS 2809.1, and where two are required one goes on the near side toward the rear and one on the off side toward the front; a single required extinguisher goes on the discharge side of a tank vehicle or in or behind the cabin.
