An NDIS code of conduct, made law, applies to every provider (registered or not) and every worker delivering NDIS-funded supports, including sole traders, contractors and agents, and alongside any professional code such as the National Code of Conduct for Health Care Workers. It covers participants' rights (respect, freedom from discrimination, coercion and exploitation, dignity, consultation, informed consent, privacy), organisational conduct (no false or misleading claims, no claiming authority beyond approved scope, no supports without evidence of effectiveness) and individual conduct (no neglect, exploitation, harsh treatment, deprivation, bullying, retaliation or working impaired). Breaches are investigated on complaint or other information, not pre-certified, and can lead to banning.
