Self-management is available unless it poses unreasonable risk, considering material harm, vulnerability, decision-making and financial capacity and court orders; self-managers get information on rights and risks, capacity building, and monitoring through plan review; they can complain about any provider; they are encouraged to use screened workers, and parents managing a child's plan are encouraged to sight Working with Children Checks; the NDIS code of conduct applies to all workers and providers they use. Where the law requires Ahpra registration for an allied health support, only a registered professional can provide it; some higher-risk supports (expected to include early childhood intervention, behaviour support and restrictive practices, and allied health not covered by Ahpra) can only come from registered providers.
