A swimming pool must have an adequate way of being drained that will not cause illness to people or affect other property. There are no Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions for H2P4 in Volume Two or the Housing Provisions, so it is met by a Performance Solution, usually by discharging pool water to the sewer or an approved point under the Plumbing Code of Australia (Volume Three, Part C2 covers pumped discharge from swimming pools) and local authority requirements. The Northern Territory leaves H2P4 blank.
