Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r36: r 36 Apply the hierarchy of control measures

Where elimination is not reasonably practicable, the duty holder minimises risk so far as reasonably practicable by substituting the hazard with something giving a lesser risk, isolating the hazard from people, or implementing engineering controls (one or more of these); then minimises any remaining risk with administrative controls; then with suitable personal protective equipment. Controls may be combined where one is not enough.
