Part 4.7: General electrical safety and energised electrical work – Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations

Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r150-151: rr 150 and 151 Inspect and test plug-in equipment in hostile environments; do not use untested equipment

A PCBU ensures electrical equipment supplied through a socket outlet and used where conditions are likely to damage it or shorten its life (moisture, heat, vibration, mechanical damage, corrosive chemicals, dust) is regularly inspected and tested by a competent person (new unused equipment is inspected for obvious damage before first use instead), keeps a record of each test (tester, date, outcome and next test date, which may be a tag) until the next test or disposal, and ensures so far as reasonably practicable that equipment requiring testing is not used untested.
