Australia Model Code of Practice: Safe Design of Structures 4.4: 4.4 Redo the design process for modifications, with expert input

Modifying a structure means reapplying the design phase processes. Professional engineers or other experts may be needed to assess modifications, for example changes in floor load spread when heavy equipment is relocated, modified or replaced. This ensures that new hazards and risks are identified and controlled and that safety features already designed in are not affected, and additional design issues found should be passed back to the designer where possible.
