Section 2: The process to manage psychosocial risks – Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work

Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work 2.4: 2 Consult workers at every step, especially on changes affecting work

At each step of the process the PCBU must consult workers who are or are likely to be directly affected, and any HSRs. This includes proposed changes that affect health and safety such as new policies, procedures and systems of work; restructures, staffing level changes, new reporting lines and locations; changes to tasks, workload, duties and working arrangements including rosters; new technology, plant, equipment, substances, structures and production processes; redesign of workplaces; and changes to how information, training, instruction and supervision are given. Consultation on changes should happen as early as possible.
