Section 2: The process to manage psychosocial risks – Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work

Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work 2.3: 2 Demonstrate leadership and management commitment

Genuine commitment from the PCBU, officers and other organisational leaders is essential because their governance arrangements and resourcing decisions shape how work is done and how well psychosocial risks are controlled. Commitment is built by making sure leaders understand their duties under WHS laws, the risk management process, the business case for managing psychosocial hazards, and the roles of different leaders such as human resources and WHS managers.
