Every employee must be classified under Schedule A (Support Services Levels 1 to 9; Health Professional Levels 1 to 4) and the employer must advise the employee in writing on commencement and of any change. From the first full pay period on or after 1 October 2026 a Health Professional at Level 1 is classified by the AQF level (5 to 9) for their profession in Schedule B (the level of the qualification held where several are listed, the closest listed qualification, the standard entry qualification for unlisted professions, or a higher qualification the employer requires) and by years of experience (1st, 2nd to 3rd, 4th to 6th, 7th and later); Level 2.1 or 2.2 covers senior clinicians, specialists, supervisors and educators by experience; Levels 3 and 4 cover higher roles. Existing Health Professionals on 30 September 2026 and dental assistants and pathology collectors on 31 March 2026 translate under Schedule J.
