School-based apprentices are paid the relevant junior or adult apprentice hourly rate for all hours including off-the-job training; where the apprentice is a full-time school student, paid training time is 25% of actual weekly on-the-job hours (averageable over a semester or year). They must be allowed the same total training time as a full-time apprentice, the apprenticeship must not exceed 6 years, wage progression is 12 months for each 2 years of employment (or competency-based if provided), progress counts on conversion to full-time, and other conditions apply pro rata.
