Every accredited individual signs a declaration on the application form to abide by the conditions FPA Australia imposes. The conditions require the individual to be a signatory to and abide by the Code of Professional Conduct; to support and comply with the Scheme and other laws and with all relevant legislation, codes and standards; to carry out only the role and work activities of the accredited category and comply with any restrictions on the class and category, informing all persons of any restriction when undertaking related work; to notify FPA Australia within 14 days of any change affecting the accreditation, such as address, contact, employer or insurance details; to hold and maintain the relevant insurances continuously; to commit to continuing professional development under the Scheme; to participate and cooperate in any review, audit or investigation of their accredited work and provide the related documentation such as reports, file notes and drawings; to retain all records relating to their accreditation and accredited work for at least 10 years; to renew accreditation annually; not to represent that they can do Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) work beyond the function they are accredited for; and to declare that they are not currently suspended from any other Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) scheme and have not had such accreditation revoked by another scheme in the last five years. Breaching the restriction or misrepresentation conditions can lead to suspension or cancellation.
