Medical students are at known risk and the program owns part of the answer. The provider runs a whole-of-program wellbeing and inclusion strategy and offers accessible counselling, health and learning services that meet students' needs whether financial, social, cultural, spiritual, personal, physical or psychological. Students who need additional health or learning support or reasonable adjustments are identified and receive them promptly. A safe and confidential process allows students to disclose voluntarily the information needed to arrange support and adjustments within the program, and the provider works with health services so that students can make the same disclosure safely and voluntarily as they prepare for and begin internship, unless the law requires otherwise. Study policies are flexible to individual needs. Student support is kept separate from decisions about academic progression. Clear policies exist to detect, deal with and head off bullying, harassment, racism and discriminatory treatment, with safe, confidential and accessible reporting in all learning environments, timely follow-up and support, and attention to the cultural safety of those environments.
