Assessment drives learning, so it is designed as a system. Students are assessed throughout the program through a documented system that is fair, flexible, equitable, valid and reliable and that is backed by research and evaluation evidence. The system lets students demonstrate progress toward the program outcomes, including the professional behaviours the program describes, across its length. Each assessment is blueprinted against what was taught and against the outcomes, with detailed curriculum mapping and assessment blueprinting at each stage. It uses a variety of methods and formats suited to what is being assessed, and sets standards using validated methods. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Maori health and culturally safe practice are assessed throughout the program, not in one place, and that assessment is shaped by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Maori health experts.
