A program needs money, a leader and a team. The provider is funded well enough to keep the program running and directs that funding to its purpose and the program's requirements. A dedicated and clearly identified academic head is both empowered and accountable for running the program, supported by a leadership team whose members have dedicated and defined roles with appropriate authority, resources and expertise, and that team includes a senior leadership role or roles responsible for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Maori health with defined responsibilities and the authority and resources to carry them out. The provider assesses the level of qualification it awards against the relevant national qualification standards. Accurate and relevant information about the program, its policies and its requirements, including what is needed to deliver the program, can be found and read by the public, by applicants, by students and staff, and by the clinicians who supervise.
