Governance turns purpose into a program. The provider documents a governance structure that gives organisational units, staff and the people who deliver the program a voice in engagement and decision-making, that is empowered and resourced to plan, run, review and improve the program toward its outcomes and purpose, and that exercises effective academic oversight. Student representation in governance and decision-making is guaranteed by written process, not goodwill. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Maori academic staff and clinical supervisors take part at every level of the governance structure and in program decisions. Written policies catch and manage any interest held by staff or other decision-makers that could pull against their duty to the program.
