All safety equipment and tools must be maintained and tested regularly and visually inspected before every use; defective items must not be used and must be tagged and withdrawn. Insulated tools and equipment must be approved types kept in good order and regularly maintained and tested, and must not be used if there is any doubt their insulation could fail (IEC 60900 covers insulated hand tools).
