Each fixture, appliance, tap, valve and cistern must receive at least the flow rate in Table 3.2.1, and cold outlets at showers, basins, kitchen sinks and laundry troughs are capped at 9 L/min (emergency drench showers excepted). Loading units come from the same table. For dwellings the probable simultaneous demand may not be below Table 3.2.3, which is used to size the supply pipe (Appendix C gives a method, and a formula covers more dwellings than the table); within dwellings, branch pipes are sized by turning loading units into flow rates with Table 3.2.4 (Appendix D). Tested lower flows for particular valves and appliances may be substituted. The table values are those in the current edition.
