Lanyards, pole straps and related equipment are selected to limit free fall to the Table 2.1 limits (600 mm for limited free fall; 2 m for free fall with a shock-absorbing lanyard) and to keep harness force within 6 kN, using personal energy absorbers; twin-tail lanyards are covered for continuous connection; energy absorbers have in-service extension values for fall situations; and after Amendment 1 lanyard assemblies and pole straps are made to AS 1891.5.
