Adhesives in the system must be waterproof to AS/NZS 4858 where waterproof materials are joined to waterproof materials (the laps of sheet membranes especially), and compatible with what they bond. A note gives tile adhesives as an example, which need to be water resistant when bonding tiles over waterproof or water-resistant surfaces.
