Yearly: complete shorter-interval activities and the Section 6 yearly detection routines; record when each gas container was last pressure tested or inspected and tell the owner if the ten-yearly test is due within a year; check and lubricate mechanical actuators, release systems and mechanical detection; replace mechanical detection elements, pyrotechnic actuators and aerosol generators that will pass their listed service life before the next service; check detector spacing and location; clean contaminated nozzles and dampers; check for anything that could cause inadvertent discharge; verify the fuel class and type, gross and net enclosure volumes, design concentration or application density and, for local application, the dimensions of protected objects; for total flooding systems, carry out a room integrity (leakage) test to AS ISO 14520.1 (recording equivalent leakage area and retention time for gaseous systems) or, where a test cannot be done, confirm integrity visually; test and record the pressure-relief vent operating pressure; inspect adjacent areas for agent migration hazards; test automatic ventilation dampers and post-discharge ventilation; simulate operation to prove directional valves; and test interfaces with other systems (for example HVAC and EWS).
