Where required, stairs at a property boundary are set back 900 mm or more to keep handrails and tactile indicators out of the crossing path, and set back per the figure at internal corridors; risers are opaque; nosings do not project past the riser face (risers vertical or splayed back up to 25 mm); nosings have a sharp edge, a radius of 5 mm or less, or a chamfer no bigger than 5 mm by 5 mm; every tread carries a nosing strip 50 mm to 75 mm deep running the whole width, set back no more than 15 mm, with at least 30 % luminance contrast; and TGSIs are installed to AS/NZS 1428.4.1.
